National Museum of Mexican Railways
The Museo del Ferrocarril de México is an exhibition space that shows the public a historical review of the Railroad , from its beginnings to the present time. It is located in the Historic Center of Puebla , Mexico.
The present museum was the old railway station of Puebla that belonged to the route of the Mexican Railroad that was the first railway route constructed in our country. Route that came from Mexico to Veracruz. The station was inaugurated in 1869 a 16 of September by the then president of the republic Benito Juárez.
It has several exhibition halls, in which various exhibitions, all related to the railroad culture, are temporarily exhibited. Generally, the different collections contained therein, such as maps or maps of stations, routes or railroads, photographs, historical archives and books specialized in the railroad theme are shown through a museum guide. In addition, the museum has an important number of objects of historical railroad character, pieces that were not only part of the rolling equipment, which is imposing and majestic, but also with daily life in offices, workshops and courtyards of the now defunct railway company. There are also ludic spaces and immense green areas for the delight of children and adults. Here you will find authentic railway wagons that were used at different times, including a presidential wagon and old steam engines.
